This is not classified as a personality disorder, nor recognized as a distinct pathology by the DSM.


Schizotypal personality disorder is one of a group of conditions informally thought of as "eccentric" personality disorders. Others have proposed that dissociation makes individuals prone to fantasy, thereby engendering confabulated memories of trauma. We examine data related to a series of 8 contrasting predictions based on the trauma model and the fantasy model of dissociation. People with these disorders often appear odd or peculiar.
